Rusty Topping is the founder and president of Disruptive Technology Associates. Mr. Topping sets the strategic and tactical direction for the company.
Mr. Topping is an accomplished leader, strategist, inventor, & technologist. He has deep technical knowledge and understanding in defense, intelligence community and commercial communications applications. He is a talented systems engineer with broad command of technology and an “outside the box” perspective. Mr. Topping co-invented the Iridium BurstSM Global Data Broadcast service and holds several issued and pending U.S. patents.
Prior to founding Disruptive Tech, Mr. Topping was the Executive Vice President & General Manager of Celestech, Inc., a software research and development engineering firm. He led the growth of company to the Inc. 500 list and successful acquisition by Exelis Inc. in 2014. He was responsible for all aspects of Celestech’s technical operations and research & development.
Mr. Topping has experience as the Vice President of Essex Corporation’s Scientific Systems Group, the President of Computer Science Innovations, a Melbourne, Florida-based provider of artificial intelligence applications to DoD agencies and commercial companies, as well as experience as a development manager on Motorola Satellite Communications Group’s Iridium project.
Mr. Topping holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Computer Science from the Florida Institute of Technology.
Jim McDearmon is the Director of Programs for Disruptive Tech. Mr. McDearmon is responsible for capture and execution of engineering programs at Disruptive Tech.
Mr. McDearmon is an entrepreneurial executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience at Fortune 100 companies and small to mid-sized businesses serving domestic and international markets. He has held senior positions in engineering, program management, business development P & L management, manufacturing, operations, and supply chain at Motorola, General Dynamics, Sullivan International Group, and RJR Technologies.
Mr. McDearmon’s solid business background, leadership experience and customer-first mindset make him an invaluable member of the Disruptive Tech team.
Mr. McDearmon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from San Diego State University.
Alma Torres is the Business Manager for Disruptive Tech. She is responsible for the ongoing administrative and financial aspects of the business as well as ensuring employee and customer satisfaction.
Prior to joining Disruptive Tech, Ms. Torres held the lead administrative position at Celestech, a Virginia-based provider of engineering services to the Department of Defense and related contractors. Her previous positions include lead business administration and human resources positions within the engineering services profession including positions with Ajilon Consulting, ASARCO, and Oxford International.
Ms. Torres received her formal education at the University of Texas and is fluent in Spanish and French.
Jason Babyak is Disruptive Tech’s Director of Development. Among his many duties he is responsible for locating talented engineers for Disruptive Tech’s growing team as well as internal projects for the engineering organization. Mr. Babyak has decades of experience as an Electrical Engineer and in technical recruiting. He blends a thorough, thoughtful approach with an in-depth technical understanding of our projects to enhance Disruptive Tech’s engineering skills and to achieve the right mix of skills on our technical team.
Prior to joining Disruptive Tech, Mr. Babyak performed in a similar role for Celestech, Inc. as well as provided recruiting services for other high-tech companies in the southwest.
Mr. Babyak holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
